The City of Flagstaff is feeling the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. City officials say in June, revenue from hotels and motels was 62-percent lower than June of 2019. General fund revenues from restaurants and bars are off 31-percent and personal property rentals are off 22-percent from last year. However, retail surprisingly saw a 17-percent increase from this June from last June. Construction contracting is also up 41-percent along with building permits, which is up 76-percent. The Flagstaff City Council will receive this report and discuss it at Tuesday afternoon’s work session.
