Hon-Dah Casino on the White Mountain Apache reservation suspended gaming operations Sunday night and will close Monday after two employees have tested positive for COVID-19. The closure is also due to other employees entering mandatory self-quarantine. Casino officials say they are acting “swiftly to protect the health, safety and welfare of our employees and our customers.” Hon-Dah Casino management says they will reopen once it is safe to do so. All casino employees underwent testing for the virus. The casino is located between Pinetop-Lakeside and McNary in the White Mountains. Twin Arrows Casino east of Flagstaff has remained closed since March due to the pandemic, while Cliff Castle Casino is open in the Verde Valley.
