It’s been a pretty dry Monsoon season, but the season could see a very wet ending this week. The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Watch for Oak Creek and Sycamore canyons and Yavapai County from 11 a.m. Monday until 5 a.m. Tuesday. A severe thunderstorm watch is also in effect until 9 p.m. for Yavapai and the southern counties. Forecasters say one-to-two inches of rain could fall in Yavapai and Coconino counties starting Monday afternoon into Tuesday morning. A low pressure system is coming into the state from the west and is expected to mix with moisture from the south from former Hurricane Lorena. If you live in flood prone areas, such as south of the Museum Fire burn area in Flagstaff, keep an eye on the weather the next couple of days. Also make sure you register for emergency notifications at the Coconino County website. Rain is currently in the forecast through the week and into next weekend.
