Haywire Fire Gets First Containment, Work Continues To Protect Lockett Meadow On The Pipeline Fire

The Haywire Fire is seeing its first containment numbers, meanwhile crews will continue to work to protect Lockett Meadow on the Pipeline Fire. The Haywire Fire has burned over 53-hundred acres and is now 11-percent contained. There are 57 firefighters working on the fire. On the Pipeline Fire crews continue to work to protect Lockett Meadow and the inner basin. Air attack hammered the fire near the two popular spots on the San Francisco Peaks Tuesday, with large crews working on the ground to save the area Tuesday and Wednesday and will keep working Wednesday night and into tomorrow. The Pipeline Fire has burned nearly 25-thousand acres and is now 27-percent contained, after further mapping brought the containment numbers down from 31-percent. The fire has been managed by a Type Two team from California. They will turn the fire over to the Great Basin Type 1 team Thursday. There are around a total of 670 firefighters currently working both the Pipeline and Haywire fires.
