Tuesday marks seven years since 19 members of the Granite Mountain Hotshots were killed battling the Yarnell Hill Fire. Due to concerns over COVID-19, this years remembrance heads online Tuesday. The 15-minute event will be available at 4:30 p.m. on June 30th. The presentation will include the reading of the names of those who died by Lew and Marcie Theokas, who are the grandparents of Garret Zuppinger, who was one of the 19 firefighters who died that day. To watch the video head to yarnellarearesourcegroup.org, yarnellfire.org or peeplesvalleyfire.org. Other events surrounding the tragic event include the second anniversary of the Granite Mountain Interagency Hotshot Learning and Tribute Center at the Gateway Mall on Saturday. Also at the tribute center, there will be a wreath-laying ceremony at 1 p.m., and the bells of the courthouse will ring 19 times beginning at 4:42 p.m. both on Tuesday.
