Arizona Governor Doug Ducey and State Superintendent of Schools Kathy Hoffman announced Sunday that schools will be closed throughout the state until March 27th. Ducey and Hoffman will work with education officials and public health officials to reasses the need for school closures through the 27th. The governor said in a statement: “A statewide closure is the right thing to do. While this measure will not stop the spread of COVID-19, it will bring certainty and consistency in schools across Arizona.” Ducey and Hoffman released a video, outlining plans going forward. They says child care options for those who need it will be made available, as well as food options for students. Hoffman says the summer food service at schools will be begin.
