Governor Doug Ducey has called an end to the COVID-19 Declaration of Emergency that was called on March 11th of 2020, due to the low positive cases and the thresholds met by the Arizona Department of Health Services. Although the Declaration of Emergency has ended, the Governor and ADHS will still remain diligent in reminding the public to get vaccinated and boosted to protect against COVID-19. Studies show more than 70-percent of Arizona residents have received at least one dose of a vaccine and more than 60-percent of all Arizona residents are fully vaccinated. Governor Ducey says even though COVID-19 isn’t completely gone, he is looking forward to slightly moving on. Ducey says, “No corner of our state, no corner of our country or the world, was spared. But we met that challenge head on by prioritizing lives, livelihoods and individual liberties. The time is right to move forward.” The termination of the COVID-19 Declaration of Emergency is effective immediately.
