Governor Doug Ducey has issued a Declaration of Emergency in response to flash flooding this week in Flagstaff and Coconino County. Ducey is making up to $200-thousand available for response efforts. Ducey said in a statement, “severe post-wildfire flooding is creating dangerous challenges for communities in Northern Arizona,” He adds, “the flooding is causing road closures, damaging property and putting Arizonans’ safety at risk. This Declaration of Emergency will give those working to protect others the tools they need to keep our communities safe.” Flagstaff Mayor Paul Deasy and Coconino County Board of Supervisors Chairman Matt Ryan declared an emergency on Thursday.
