Governor Ducey Deems Salons And Some Other Businesses, Non-Essential

Arizona Governor Doug Ducey has released additional guidance on essential services. Added to the closed list of businesses that must shut their doors by 5 p.m. Saturday are: barbers, hair and nail salons, tanning salons, tattoo parlors, spas and massage parlors. Also closing will be amenities at public parks, which includes basketball courts, and restrooms. Also pools at hotels, condos and such are closed, but still need to be maintained. Swap meets are now on the closure list. Services that are considered essential are personal hygiene services, including in-home services such as services for vulnerable adults who are disabled, daycare centers who provide care for people serving in essential services, hotels and motels, to the extent used for lodging, including RV parks and hotel and motel restaurants providing delivery or carryout food services. Also respite and palliative care service are also essential. The changes were made to the list after pressure from city mayors and other leaders from around the state.
