Gas Prices Slightly Lower On Average In Arizona This Week

Gas prices in Arizona are down slightly again this week. Triple-A Arizona says the average price of gas fell nearly a cent-and-a-half this week to $3.56 a gallon. Spokesman Aldo Vazquez says prices will stay higher than normal for the time being. He says. “last week OPEC and U.S. energy officials said that the COVID-19 Omicron variant is no longer expected to slow the continued recovery of petroleum demand in 2022, but despite this OPEC and its allies are maintaining their planned modest production and will not dramatically ramp up the output.” Vazquez adds, “the result of that means we are going to continue to see this tight supply of oil, which likely means motorists should expect to see higher prices for the near future.” He says oil prices around $85 a barrel isn’t helping either. In Flagstaff, gas was down around two cents a gallon on average to $3.75 a gallon. In West Flagstaff, gas is around $3.75 a gallon and lower, while on the east side, gas today is $3.45 a gallon on average. In Prescott, the average price of gas is down two cents a gallon this week to $3.48 a gallon.
