The Flagstaff Unified School District governing board has decided to remain in remote learning through the end of the semester. The board says remote learning will be the plan until at least January 5th, which is the beginning of the third quarter and the next semester. According to last week’s health benchmarks, FUSD was still in the red, or substantial, category with 206.9 cases per 100-thousand people and percent positivity at 5.6-percent. Even though those two categories are still in substantial, they did come down quite a bit last week. COVID-like illness is in the green, or minimal, at 2.7-percent. FUSD must be within the yellow, or moderate, or green with all three benchmarks for two consecutive weeks to initiate a phased return to in-person learning at all FUSD schools.
