The Flagstaff City Council will have to determine where to get additional money for the Fourth Street/I-40 Bridge Replacement Project, after the project came back over four-million dollars over budget after the bidding process was completed. The city will have to come up with just over two-million dollars of the four-million after splitting the costs with ADOT. City staff will come up with some ideas to find the extra money for the expansion project, that will replace and expand the bridges on Fourth Street over Interstate-40. The city could use money from the transportation tax or BBB funds. The project was approved by council back in 2018. The council will discuss this at Tuesday’s City Council meeting at City Hall in the 6 p.m. session.
