No Kings Demonstration Focusing on Voter Participation Held in Flagstaff

A fourth nationwide “No Kings” protest was held today, Oct. 17.

The Flagstaff installment began at 2 p.m., though many people had already set up before then on the front lawn of Flagstaff City Hall.

Today’s event drew a crowd similar to the previous three, held on June 14 and Oct. 18, 2025, and on March 28, 2026, respectively.

The nationwide event was organized by the 50501 Movement, and the local installment was organized by Indivisible Northern AZ. This edition of the demonstration was titled “No Kings Vote Early,” and organized ahead of the midterm elections, a little over two weeks away from now, on Nov. 3.

Unlike past No Kings demonstrations, Indivisible emphasized that this edition was not only a protest, but a day of nonpartisan voter participation. A table with voting information was set up on the lawn.

Flagstaff City Council member Austin Aslan, the longest-tenured member of the council, was the only sitting elected official that KAFF News observed. Aslan is running for reelection.

A wealth of topics were the subject of today’s protest, including the current presidential administration’s policies, the conflict in Iran, rising costs for middle-class Americans, voting rights, and many other recurring topics.

The “No Kings” protests organized by Indivisible Northern AZ have consistently seen far larger crowds than those organized by other groups. Today’s crowd was just as large as the previous editions held in Flagstaff.

Other “No Kings” demonstrations were held around northern Arizona, including in Sedona and Prescott Valley.

This event was one of several demonstrations to take place at Flagstaff City Hall in response to the actions of the Trump administration. Like previous demonstrations held at City Hall in recent months, passing vehicles honked their horns in support. KAFF News did not observe any counter-protestors at the demonstration.
