Former Prescott Representative David Stringer announced Friday he is running for Yavapai County Attorney. Stringer resigned from the Arizona House of Representatives last March after ethics complaints following reports he was arrested for sex crimes in Baltimore in 1983. He faced possible expulsion for his refusal to turn over records to the investigation. Instead of doing so, he resigned. Stringer was also seen on a video making racial remarks in the summer of 2018. Stringer apologized for the remarks last January. He will be running against Sheila Polk, who has been Yavapai County Attorney for 20 years. She was elected in 2000.
