Former LD6 Representative Brenda Barton Officially Enters 2020 State House Race

Former State Legislator Brenda Barton has officially entered the 2020 race for Legislative District 6. Barton made the announcement Monday, but it has been rumored for some time she was going to get back into politics. She represented District 6 from 2011 until 2019, but was unable to run for re-election in 2018 because of term limits. She is able to run again after sitting out a term. Barton served on numerous committees while serving in the state House and was the chairman of the Rural Caucus and Land, Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee. Others running for one of two seats in LD6 include incumbent Walt Blackman, Democrat and Flagstaff Mayor Coral Evans and current Coconino County Board of Supervisors Chairman Art Babbott, who is running as an independent.
