A Florida man was arrested in Northern Arizona Sunday for having over 30 pounds of drugs in his car. Yavapai County Sheriff’s officials say deputies pulled over 39-year-old Demetrius Dowdell at around 8:15 a.m. on eastbound Interstate-40 in the Ash Fork area for having window obstructions. The deputy noticed Dowdell was more nervous than the average driver and when he got out of the car to speak to the officer, he locked the doors. As the conversation increased, the more nervous Dowdell got. A search by “Vader,” the deputy’s K9 dog, led the deputy to find two bags in the trunk that contained 29 large plastic bags containing 25 pounds of meth, two-and-a-half pounds of heroin and two pounds of black tar heroin. Dowdell was booked on a slew of charges related to the discovery. He remains in custody in the Camp Verde Detention Center on $300-thousand dollars bond.
