A Flash Flood Watch will be in effect Thursday and Friday for parts of Yavapai County, including Prescott, Cottonwood, Camp Verde, Seligman, Ash Fork and Cordes Junction. The watch will be in effect from 11 a.m. tomorrow morning through 5 p.m. Friday afternoon. The National Weather Service says to expect between an inch-and-a-half to two-and-a-half inches of additional rainfall across Yavapai County in areas that have already received over an inch of rain. Added rainfall will cause area washes, creeks, rivers and streams to rise. If you come across a flooded crossing, turn around and do not cross. If you do and get stuck, you may be in violation of Arizona’s “Stupid Motorist Law.” If you live along waterways, keep an eye on the situation and evacuate if you need to. The weather service will issue Flash Flood Warnings if conditions warrant.
