The Shadows Foundation received a huge financial boost this past weekend. The Flagstaff non-profit held its annual big fundraiser, the Big Sting music festival in Prescott at Watson Lake, last Thursday through Sunday. The foundation will receive a million-dollars from Vora Financial. The money actually came from an anonymous donor who left the money in their will to be given to the charity in seven year increments. Founder and President Vicki Burton says the money will go to a variety of programs that they provide. She says “it will allow me to do more funding for patients that are battling their life-threatening illness, pay for health screenings for first responders and put more time into our programs like our Better Bucks program.” Vicki says the donor was a close friend of hers who passed away from cancer recently. Shadow Foundation provides services and financial assistance for people and families affected with a life-threatening illness. They also run the Better Bucks program, which helps the homeless population get items they need from participating merchants. For more information, log onto ShadowsFoundation.org.
