The city of Flagstaff will be home to a summer collegiate baseball team, called The Star Chasers, as a part of the new Northern Arizona League. Other teams in the league will be playing in Prescott, Payson and Lake Havasu City. The Star Chasers’ roster will consist of NCAA, NAIA, and junior college players. With the new addition of a baseball team in Flagstaff, The Star Chasers organization is also looking for families willing to host players during the 2022 season. The season will run from the first week of June until the beginning of August. Host families are asked to provide beds, meals, washer and dryer use, and a bathroom for the players. Host families are not expected to provide transportation for the players. The Star Chasers will be on the road for half of the season, in which the team will cover expenses for room and board. Host families are able to choose the players based on position on the field, and are allowed to host more than one player. Once paired with a player, The Star Chasers will put the host family in contact with the player so they can start getting to know each other before the season begins. The Star Chasers will also provide a letter to the host family stating dates the player stayed, which can be taken to a tax advisor to determine tax advantages for hosting. For more information or to sign up to host, email FlagstaffStarChasers.com or call (480)-242-5782.
