Flagstaff To Hold Public “Drop-In” Event Concerning Changes To Resident’s Water Bills

The City of Flagstaff is hosting a “drop-in” event Saturday for customers to learn about upcoming changes to the city’s water bills. The Flagstaff City Council adopted a “notice of intent” to increase water, sewer and reclaimed water rates or rate components, fees or service charges back on April 16th. City officials say Flagstaff has seen rising costs due to inflation and cost escalation for materials. These rising costs have been absorbed by delaying critical projects and putting off maintenance, but it’s not sustainable in the long term. To adequately fund operations and maintenance programs, capital programs and long-term water security, Flagstaff is evaluating water and sewer rates to keep water flowing for generations. The event will be held Saturday from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Flagstaff Aquaplex. Pizza will be provided and everyone who goes will get one free day pass to the Aquaplex.
