A Flagstaff teenager was arrested in Winslow recently after she was involved in a high speed chase with police. Authorities from the Navajo County Sheriff’s Department, DPS and Winslow Police were conducting a DUI enforcement detail in Winslow last Saturday. Police attempted to stop a 2011 BMW for speeding on State Route 87 at around 7:46 p.m. The car didn’t stop and reached speed of over 100 miles per hour on the highway. The vehicle finally stopped in town in an alleyway. In the car was the driver, 19-year-old Antonia Brito of Flagstaff, and 20-year-old Marilena Ballegos of Phoenix, along with a six and 16 year old as passengers. Brito was booked into the Navajo County Jail on a slew of charges including unlawful flight, underage driving with liquor, two counts of DUI and more. Ballegos was arrested for underage possession of alcohol. The two kids were released to their parents.
