Flagstaff Residents Come Together To Help Residents Clean Up From Recent Flooding

Around 100 people gathered Saturday to help out residents in the Museum Fire burn area dig out from last week’s massive flooding. The United Way of Northern Arizona organized the event. Coconino County officials say volunteers removed about 200 tons of sediment from the yards of seven homes. The Coconino County Board of Supervisors will hold a joint meeting with the Flagstaff City Council Monday to review the Museum Fire Flood Area response and ongoing mitigation efforts. The meeting starts at 3 p.m. and you can watch it on the City of Flagstaff’s website. The Monsoon will stay away until Wednesday, when we will start to see a slight chance of showers in the forecast. If residents in flooded areas need help with debris removal, United Way is organizing volunteers throughout the week. If you need help call (928) 679-8525. If you can volunteer this week, contact the United Way at (928) 773-9813.
