The Flagstaff Planning and Zoning Commission approved the request for a conditional use permit for the old SCA Tissue property on Butler Avenue in Flagstaff. Reich Brothers made the request for the permit to construct retail, restaurant and general services on the 77-thousand square foot property at 16-hundred East Butler. Most of the property will be used to construct an over 58-thousand square-foot building that would be the new home for Kohl’s, which will relocate from its current store at 500 West Forest Meadows Street. The rest of the property will be used to build more commercial space, such as a restaurant or other services. The commission approved the request by a 6-1 vote, with commissioner Eric Nolan the lone no vote. The request will now head to the city council.
