The Flagstaff Police Department was recently awarded a grant from the Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety. The Department received a grant of just over $61-thousand dollars that will be used for a variety of initiatives that will increase roadway safety and efficiency throughout Flagstaff. The bulk of the money will go to the purchase of scanners and printers for each patrol vehicle so that officers can utilize the Arizona Traffic and Criminal Software records system. The program streamlines sending documents to the courts for processing, allows a copy to be given to drivers and forms can be sent to the Department of Transportation as well.
