Flagstaff Police are looking for a “person of interest” in connection with an incident this past Saturday at the DoubleTree Hotel in West Flagstaff, as they hosted Coconino High School’s JROTC ball. Police says a man arrived at the hotel at around 6:29 p.m. according to video surveillance. He was seen wandering around the hotel suspiciously, going around the conference center, checking conference room doors and rooms, as well as going up and down in the elevator near the lobby. Then a little before 8:30 p.m., the man entered the banquet room, where the ball was being held. After a few short minutes, he was confronted by a chaperone. The man only gave the name, “Sergeant Major Travis Palmer” before saying he needed to take a phone call. The man then quickly left out the south doors. About 20-to-30 minutes later, around six members of the JROTC started to fill sick. They experienced nausea, dizziness and vomiting. They told officers they thought their drinks were spiked. Several who attended the ball, were taken to Flagstaff Medical Center for treatment. If anyone has information about the suspect, contact Detective Forsman at (928) 679-4071.
