Flagstaff Police have arrested a man in connection with an attempted kidnapping of an infant Thursday morning at the Basha’s grocery store in West Flagstaff. Police were called to the store at 27-hundred South Woodlands Village Boulevard at around 9:35 a.m. A mother was buying groceries at the self check-out line while her baby remained in the cart. A man, 59-year-old Jeffrey Roholt of Flagstaff, finished buying groceries in the same area and took control of the woman’s cart and attempted to leave the store. The woman quickly noticed the Roholt leaving with the cart and prevented her child from being taken. Roholt was located after 1:30 p.m. and interviewed by police. He told officers he believed the cart was his and attempted to leave the store. Roholt was arrested and charged with one count of kidnapping.
