Flagstaff Police Investigating A Fatal Hit And Run Incident Friday Night

Flagstaff Police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run incident Friday night in the Sunnyside area of Flagstaff. Police responded to the 28-hundred block of North Fourth Street at around 8:25 p.m. on a report of a man laying in the road. Officers found 55-year-old Nelvin Thompson of Flagstaff, severely injured and they immediately started to aid him. Thompson was taken to Flagstaff Medical Center with significant life-threatening injuries and was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at the hospital. Investigators say Thompson was hit by a southbound vehicle, which is believed to have significant front end damage, including damage to the hood and windshield as a result of the collision with the Thompson.
