Flagstaff Police have arrested a suspect in last week’s shooting outside an apartment complex in the Sunnyside neighborhood of Flagstaff. Officers responded to the complex in the 22-hundred block of North Izabel Street at around 10:30 p.m. last Thursday on a report of several gunshots coming from the parking lot. When officers arrived they found an adult male with several gunshot wounds. Authorities say while parked, the driver of a dark colored SUV with chrome handles drove by the victim, shooting him multiple times. The victim was taken to Flagstaff Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries and was treated and released. Officers arrested 38-year-old Isaac Garcia Sunday in connection with the shooting. Thanks to a Silent Witness tip, officers found the suspect’s vehicle and proceeded to take Garcia into custody. He has been booked into the Coconino County Jail on charges of assault-drive-by shooting, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon or instrument, possession of a weapon by a prohibited possessor and possession of drug paraphernalia.
