A suspect has been identified after a shooting in downtown Flagstaff early Thursday morning. Officials responded to the area of North San Francisco Street and East Route 66 just after midnight after a report of hearing several gunshots. Officers found a person who was shot in the leg. The victim was transported to Flagstaff Medical Center in stable condition and is expected to survive. Officials say two groups of people were engaged in an argument near Majerles Sports Bar. One group reportedly crossed East Route 66 toward the public parking lot located at the southwest corner of the intersection. One person began shooting at the group remaining near the restaurant, hitting one victim. Officers located several 9 mm shell casings near the southwest corner of the intersection. Police have identified the suspect 27-year-old Daniel Sanchez, who was contacted by phone and told police he was in Mexico. A warrant has been issued for his arrest.
