Flagstaff Moves Into Third Place On The Snowiest January Category After An Overnight Storm

Records keep falling in Flagstaff as one of the snowiest January’s on record continues. After about two inches of snow overnight in Flagstaff, it was just enough to push the city into third place on the list of the snowiest January’s ever. Flagstaff is just three-inches away from second on the list. The city has received 60.4-inches of snow this month, passing 59.4-inches in 1979. The most snow in January was 104.8-inches of snow back in 1949. The average snowfall in January in Flagstaff is 20.9-inches. So far Flagstaff has received over 80 inches of snow this season. The latest storm is moving east and we will see sunny skies through the weekend, but cold temperatures as highs won’t get out of the 30s.
