Flagstaff Mayor Paul Deasy apologized Tuesday for his controversial conduct at last week’s City Council meeting. Deasy lashed out Flagstaff Shelter Services Director Ross Altenbaugh for poor communication after a death threat against his chief of staff, and a brick thrown at the window of his home. The event drew criticism from fellow council members, who voted to go into executive session as a result. Deasy began this week’s work session by apologizing for his actions, noting that they were “not fitting of the honor of the office of mayor,” and said that his actions “did not help with building consensus,” on issues facing Flagstaff.
