Flagstaff High School is getting a new interim principal starting January 3rd. FUSD Superintendent Michael Penca announced Thursday that Libby Miller will fill that position for now. Miller lived in Flagstaff in the past and recently returned to the city from Portland, Oregon. Both her and her husband are NAU alums. While in Portland she served in a variety of roles including principal, executive director of middle school programs and adjunct professor. Penca says, “Libby will use her skills and experiences to partner with the current administrative team and staff to continue the strong programs and traditions at FHS.” He adds, “she will be at Flagstaff High School during the next week before winter break to meet with staff and students, and begin her transition to the school.” Penca has served as interim principal, as well as district superintendent, since David Roth stepped down as interim principal and will return to his role as superintendent when Miller begins at Flag High.
