The Flagstaff Fire Department was called to a wildfire in Flagstaff Thursday afternoon. Crews were called to a wooded area down Babbit Drive on the southside of Interstate-40 off the Arizona Trial at around 1:30 p.m. When crews arrived they found one-foot flame lengths and the fire was working its way into the trees. The fire, named the Monster Fire, was quickly contained to about a half-acre. Crews from Flagstaff Fire and the forest service stayed on scene several hours putting out hotspots and making sure the scene was clear of fire. The wildfire is under investigation, but fire officials say it appears to be human caused.
