Flagstaff Fire Crews Put Out A Small Wildfire Before It Got Worse Tuesday

Flagstaff Fire crews responded to a small fire in a wooded area near Butler Avenue and Fourth Street Tuesday. When crews arrived the found the fire had burned about a quarter of an acre and was starting to get into the trees due to high winds. Crews were able to quickly contain the fire before it was able to grow. Fire officials say with dryer weather and high winds this time of the year, the potential for active wildfire activity increases. Officials also remind the public that smoking in public places, within the city limits including parks and open spaces, is prohibited at this time.
