Both the Flagstaff Eagles and Coconino Panthers won on the road Friday night. The Panthers traveled to Bullhead City to the brand new Anderson Auto Group Field House to take on Mohave, who came into the game 2-0 in the region. Coconino scored first and often as they beat the Thunderbirds, 62-13. Junior running back Zach Bennett had eleven carries for 227 yards and two touchdowns and senior running back Bailey McCauslin had five carries for 178 yards and three touchdowns in the win. The Flagstaff Eagles traveled to Kingman to take on the Lee Williams Volunteers. Once again, the Eagles got the shut out to keep their playoff hopes alive, with a 13-0 win. Junior running back Luis Jaramillo scored a touchdown in the win. It was the second straight shut out for Flagstaff. Coconino is 7-0 and 4-0 in the Grand Canyon Region and can win the Grand Canyon Region title with a homecoming win next week against Lee Williams. The Eagles are 4-3 and 2-2 on the region and will host Seton Catholic in the Skydome next Friday.
