Both Flagstaff and Coconino high schools have released their 2020 high school football schedules with hopes they will begin play in August. The Flagstaff Eagles will begin their season earlier than usual. They will open up in the Flagstaff Kickoff Classic Friday, August 21st against the Peoria Panthers in the Skydome. The following week they will head to Tempe to battle the Marcos de Niza Padres. The Eagles will be back home for two straight games against Mingus for their home opener on September 4th, and will host Thunderbird on September 11th. They will then be on the road for three straight weeks at Winslow, Bradshaw Mountain and Mohave. The Eagles return home October 9th against Prescott, then have a bye week before senior night against Lee Williams. The Eagles will finish the season at Coconino in the annual City Championship Game against the Panthers at Cromer Stadium.

The Coconino Panthers have a very challenging start to the 2020 season. The defending Grand Canyon Region Champions will open in Phoenix at Cactus August 28th and at Cactus Shadows September 4th. They will open up their home schedule September 11th hosting Marcos de Niza and Snowflake. The Panthers will be back on the road for two in a row at Lee Williams and at Prescott, before returning home to take on Mohave and then Bradshaw Mountain. They will finish the season at Mingus and home at Cromer Stadium against Flagstaff October 30th.

All games are contingent on the return to classes and decisions by the Arizona Department of Education and Superintendent of Schools Kathy Hoffman, the Arizona Interscholastic Association, as well as with both schools and the Flagstaff Unified School District due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

We plan to broadcast Flagstaff and Coconino football and basketball once again on KAFF Country 93.5/AM 930 and online at kafflegends.com. We will release our broadcast schedule likely next week. Back for season five is Dave Zorn and Reggie Eccelston on the call, with KAFF rookie Sean Clark on the sidelines.
