Flagstaff City Council Hears From Developers And Staff About A 100-Percent Affordable Housing Project Slated For Downtown Flagstaff

The Flagstaff City Council discussed the San Francisco Square Affordable Housing Project and Parking Garage at their meeting Tuesday. The site is the former Catholic Elementary School and Babbitt House at 320 North Humphreys Street. San Francisco Square is a proposed 146 unit apartment building that will be 100-percent affordable housing. Seventy units will be one and two bedroom units that will be used for senior rentals in San Francisco Square, while 76 units consisting of one, two and three bedroom units, will be for non-seniors in the Aspen Lofts part of the project, both on the same property. The building is being developed by the Foundation for Senior Living and has received the Low Income Housing Tax Credit. It will serve as a home for eligible households with an income of at least 80-percent area median income and lower. The project will be built in two phases. One is the apartment complexes, the second is a parking garage with 97 public parking spaces to sport the Flagstaff Courthouse operations and downtown parking. The developers will come back to council in February, with hopes to break ground on the senior living unit in June of 2022.
