Many Northern Arizona cities set new record highs Sunday. The National Weather Service says Flagstaff set a new high of 93 degrees, breaking the previous mark of 89 set in 1939. The Prescott Airport blew away the previous record for August 16th by five degrees. Prescott’s high yesterday was 101 degrees, breaking the previous record of 96 degrees set in 2015. Winslow set a new high of 104, which tied for the highest temperature on record for August. Tuzigoot National Monument in Clarkdale set an all-time record for August with 114 degrees. Phantom Ranch was 116 degrees Sunday, breaking the previous high of 114 set in 1939. We could see more record highs set Monday.
