Freshman Bella Burcar scored 19 points and grabbed 11 rebounds as the Flagstaff Eagles won its first state basketball championship in 31 years as they beat the Pueblo Warriors 68-65 4A girls state basketball championship Thursday night at Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Phoenix. Junior guard MorningRain Honani scored 15 points and sunk two free-throws with 4.8-seconds to play in the win for the Eagles. Senior Sage Begay, in her last high school basketball game, chipped in with 12 points for Flagstaff. Senior Victoria Cazares led all-scorers with 27 points in the loss for Pueblo. It was the first girls basketball state title for Flagstaff since 1992 and the first for head coach Tyrone Johnson.
