Five Flagstaff residents were arrested Saturday in Cottonwood on drug charges. During the evening, police conducted a traffic stop on a white Chevy Impala in the area of Airpark Road. During the stop, the driver didn’t have his driver’s license and the name he provided officers ended up being false. Police were able to identify the driver as 35-year-old David Ornelas. While officers were talking to the four passengers, there was a strong odor of marijuana coming from the car. A search of the car turned up over five-grams of meth, over four-grams of pot, a gram of marijuana wax, a fentanyl pill and other items. The passengers were 32-year-old Leslie Yaiva, 35-year-old Paul Martinez, 34-year-old Sherena Grebb and 23-year-old Tyler Begay. Four of the five were booked on drug charges, while Martinez and Ornelas were also charged with taking the identity of another. Begay was cited and released on two misdemeanor charges.
