Enjoy this weekend, because the beginning of next week will remind us that winter is right around the corner. The National Weather Service says a strong cold front is making its way down from Canada and will affect our weather starting late Monday. We will see strong winds with speeds over 40-miles-per-hour at times, and likely our first snowfall of the season. Forecasters say we could see about a half-inch of snow in the Flagstaff area, with an inch or two on the San Francisco Peaks and two-to-four inches on the Kaibab Plateau by Tuesday morning. Skies will clear Tuesday leaving cold air behind. Look for freezing temperatures above five-thousand feet Tuesday night. However, it looks like we will warm up just in time for NAU’s homecoming weekend next weekend.
