Firefighters Continue To Mop-Up From The “Yankee Doodle Fire” South Of Prescott

Firefighters continue to make progress on the “Yankee Doodle Fire” burning 12 miles south of Prescott in the Prescott National Forest. Fire officials say the fire is 90-percent contained. The blaze was discovered Wednesday afternoon and has burned seven acres. Firefighters will continue mop-up operations and monitor interior fuels that will burn. The “Yankee Doodle Fire” poses no threat to life or property. Officials remind people that wildfires can happen at any time of the year and if you happen to go camping, to make sure you put out your campfire so it’s cold to the touch and never leave a campfire unattended.
