The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning and a Wind Advisory for Northern Arizona for Monday. Forecasters are calling for strong winds and low humidities for the Yavapai Mountains, Coconino and Kaibab plateaus and the Little Colorado River Valley from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. Locations in the warning area include: Flagstaff, Prescott, Prescott Valley, Chino Valley, Holbrook, Winslow, the White Mountains, the Grand Canyon, the Hopi Nation and the Navajo Nation. Winds are expected to be 25-to-35 miles per hour with gusts up to 55 miles-per-hour at times. If you’re traveling Monday use caution and make sure your trailer chains are off the road and do not throw cigarettes out of the window. Looking ahead, forecasters are calling for a chance of showers and thunderstorms starting Friday, with the best chance of rain on Saturday. The Monsoon Season begins Wednesday.
