Fire crews continue work on the Coldwater Fire burning four miles south of Clints Well on the Coconino National Forest. The fire was started by lightning last Thursday and has burned just under 23-hundred acres. The fire is being controlled to burn fuel in the area. Burnouts were set for today, but rain yesterday has made operations difficult due to the wet area. The fire has seen heavy to very heavy smoke on State Route 87 and along Lake Mary Road around Clints Well. However, Tuesday’s rain should keep smoke from the fire lighter than it has been. The fire is not threatening any structures.
