Fatal Accident Closes State Route 89A Near Prescott Valley

A fatal accident killed one person and injured several hours Wednesday morning near Prescott Valley. The accident closed State Route 89A in both directions for a few hours. ADOT says the accident happened just north of Prescott Valley at milepost 329 at around 3 a.m. DPS says at least one person was killed and several others were injured in a single vehicle rollover accident between Fain Road and Mingus Mountain. Authorities say an 18-year-old and seven juvenile passengers were in a vehicle that swerved off the right shoulder and rolled several times. During the accident, multiple passengers were ejected from the vehicle. All but one were transported to the hospital. The deceased was a juvenile. Highway 89A was fully reopened after about five hours. The accident remains under investigation.
