Fatal Accident Closed Highway 89 Thursday Near Ash Fork

One person was killed after a head-on collision Thursday morning on Highway 89 near Ash Fork. DPS says the accident happened at around 6:15 a.m. just north of Drake when a GMC truck hit head-on with a tanker truck. The accident closed Highway 89 for most of the day, reopening after 4 p.m. There is no word on what caused the accident or the identity of the person who was killed.
