Nine different lightning-caused fires were started Friday on the north end of the Prescott National Forest on the Chino Valley Ranger District. All of the fires are burning grass, brush and pinyon juniper. The Silent and Rock Butte fires are just north of Paulden. The Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office have issued a “Ready” status for the area north of Paulden. The Red Hat and Limestone fires are a few miles to the northwest of Paulden. The Rafael Fire is about two miles from Perkinsville and the San Flat, Archibald and Horney fires are three-to-four miles north of Perkinsville. On Friday, air attack dropped retardant on several of the fires. All fires are being managed in full suppression mode. Then on Saturday, the 2 Acre Spring Fire was located north of Paulden. Some of the fires are in remote locations and are being monitored via air until ground crews can gain access.
