Eight people were arrested in Cottonwood last week on marijuana growing, other drug possession and weapons charges. Detectives from the Partner Against Narcotics Trafficking task force, along with other agencies, served a search warrant in the three-thousand block of East State Route 89A. When the warrant was served, eight people were detained while one male left the home and wasn’t captured. In a search of the man’s room, detectives found drug paraphernalia and marijuana. A search of another room found more marijuana, drug paraphernalia, a shotgun and two rifles. As detectives continued to search, they found more pot, heroin, meth and more paraphernalia for drug use. Arrested were 41-year-old Travis Macafee and 40-year-old Michael Ellison on drug charges. Macafee also booked on weapons charges. They remain in custody on ten-thousand dollars bond each. Five others were charged with drug and drug paraphernalia possession and released. Ages among the six others arrested range from 19 to 50 years old.
