ADOT has reopened eastbound Interstate-40 at Ash Fork, after it was closed overnight due to ice and snow. State Route 260 has also reopened in both directions over the Mogollon Rim. Even with the reopening, traffic is slow in and around Flagstaff due to the weather and icy roads. I-40 looks really good this morning and the main city street are plowed but icy. The National Weather Service says Flagstaff received just over nine-inches of snow from the storm with 11 inches of snow on the ground. Bellemont received just over seven inches of snow and Arizona Snowbowl received 13 inches of new snow overnight for 44 inches of new snow in the last week. If you have to travel through New Year’s Day in Northern Arizona, use caution and keep your eye on the weather.
