Early voting for the November 8th general election starts today. In Flagstaff, mayor and council seats will be decided. Running for Flagstaff Mayor is current mayor Paul Deasy and former Flagstaff vice mayor Becky Daggett. There are three full-term seats, and a short term seat up for grabs on the Flagstaff City Council. Current councilman Austin Aslan and Lori Matthews will be the only names listed on the ballot. There are five write-in candidates. Kevin Dobbe, Sean Golliher, Deborah Harris, and current councilmembers Khara House and Regina Salas. Voters will also decide on two bond propositions. One is for investing in wildfire suppression, stormwater flood mitigation and wastewater treatment infrastructure, which Prop 441. Prop 442 creates rental and home ownership opportunities for Flagstaff residents. Prop 445 extends the county jail district excise tax by 25-years. The proposition just extends the current tax and doesn’t add onto it. To vote early, head to any of the listed polling places listed on the Coconino County website.
